Ada is the Principal of Merelloism. She founded Merelloism in July 2016 in the wake of a lay-off and response to professional inquiries in order to continue her work in government, nonprofits, politics, and community engagement.
Helming from the great Pacific Northwest, Ada found herself in Quito, Ecuador in the late 1990's and became a transplant to New York City and Los Angeles in the 2000s. She is a proud graduate of Borough of Manhattan Community College - City University of New York and Hunter College - City University of New York. She obtained an A.A. in Liberal Arts, a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Urban Affairs and Planning.
Upon graduation, Ada worked in a nonprofit in Mayor Michael Bloomberg's second administration. She was an Outreach Coordinator for Queens County on environmental affairs. Prior to this, Ada worked for The Urban Justice Center's Human Rights Project. In addition, she worked for New York State Senator Liz Krueger's District Office specializing on housing policy.
Ada would next find herself in Los Angeles, where she conducted outreach for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. She was an administrative assistant for The City of Burbank's Community Development Department. Ada also lent her talents to such campaigns as Barack Obama for President, Jerry Brown for Governor, Latino voter engagement, and the United States CENSUS Bureau.
After a pitstop in her home state of Oregon, where she interned for then State Representative Val Hoyle and trained to run for office with Emerge Oregon Class of 2011, Ada moved to Atlanta, Georgia in July of 2012.
Since settling in Atlanta, Ada has worked for the City of Atlanta's Mayor Kasim Reed, fundraised for the Democratic Party of Georgia and volunteered on the guinea worm eradication project at The Carter Center. In addition, Ada has conducted voter engagement for political campaigns such as Hillary Clinton for President, Elizabeth Warren for President, Stacey Abrams for Governor, Michelle Nunn for U.S. Senate, and Kamala Harris for President while being involved with a multitude of local and state races. Ada made history as the first Peruvian-American on a ballot in the state of Georgia for State House Representative when she ran for office in house district 56 in 2024.
As of August 2024, Ada is the recipient of a Masters of Public Administration from Cornell University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and speaks basic German. She has a service dog, a long-haired chihuahua named Angel Amor, and enjoys engaging in life with her Peruvian chef husband in their beloved Atlanta neighborhood of Bolton in beautiful Fulton County.
